[MoP Mechanics] General Information + Level 60 talents


  1. You need 7.5% melee hit to cap specials and 7.5% expertise to remove dodges from the table when attacking from behind a boss mob. Expertise also grants spell hit, so 7.5% hit + 7.5% expertise brings us to the 15% spell hit cap (doesn't currently display on the character sheet, but it works).
  2. NOTE: Unsure of how expertise racials affect this.
  3. Level 90 stat rating conversions are as follows: 600 rating = 1% crit; 600 rating = 1 mastery (=2% fire, frost, nature damage, down from 2.5%); 425 rating = 1% haste; 340 rating = 1% hit/expertise.
  4. Crit suppression is 1% per level that the player is below the mob he or she is attacking (e.g. a level 90 character has a 3% reduced chance to crit against a level 93 (boss) mob) (source: GC)
  5. Echo of the Elements (level 60 talent) has a 30% chance to proc for Enhancement and a 6% chance to proc for elemental and restoration (source: GC)
  6. Spells cast instantly via Ancestral Swiftness (level 60 talent) do not consume maelstrom charges. If you have the Ancestral Swiftness buff active in addition to 5 stacks of maelstrom weapon and then cast a spell affected by both, it will preferentially consume the 5 stacks of maelstrom weapon before the Ancestral Swiftness buff. If you have less than 5 stacks of maelstrom weapon, then Ancestral Swiftness will be consumed and the maelstrom charges will stay.
  7. Our pets (feral spirits + fire elemental totem) also receive benefit from haste provided by personal effects like Elemental Mastery (level 60 talent).

For #6 GC also confirmed that any case of "double dipping" with stat sharing should be removed. i.e. If a raid-wide haste effect goes out pets won't get the haste from their master AND the haste from the effect itself.

This definitely needs testing once the all clear is available from GC for pet scaling testing.

  1. Flurry: synced weapons will no longer consume a single charge per MH+OH combination swing (it was a bug and is being fixed). They're giving us 5 flurry charges (up from 3) as compensation.

I saw that comment about double dipping, so have they changed how our pets get buffs now? For example, on live you need to have your feral spirits out before bloodlust otherwise they won't get the haste effect. Do they now get updated automatically when our haste changes while they are out?

Their stats are updated dynamically with ours.

Additionally, it appears they inherit the highest of our stats in the case of physical/spell discrepancies.

... In which case, it's possible that our pets may also inherit attack speed benefits like unleash: wind or flurry (I haven't tested this yet).

level 93 boss armor has been confirmed at 24835 by GC.
